And The Winner Is….

Well a whole year has passed since we celebrated our first Apollo Care Conference. It was that time again last week, when the certificates had been printed and framed, the balloons and food had been ordered and the photographer had been booked.

As usual, our seven teams and some of their clients attended and it was so heart-warming to see everyone mingling with each other and catching up.  The weather was beautiful and this was great, as the venue this year had an outside area, which people took advantage of.

Again, everyone got themselves seated comfortably and tucked into the delicious buffet that had been laid on.  Entertainment was also on offer, with a talented gentleman called Mal singing to everyone.  He had some of our clients and staff singing and clapping along, while others actually got up to dance!  What a lovely thing to see.

Our Managing Director, Cheryl White opened the proceedings and spoke about how Apollo Care had developed and grown over the last year. She then shared of her vision for the next twelve months, taking Apollo Care to a completely different level.

It was then time to start the awards….

There were 9 categories altogether which included some new ideas such as “Seed to Flower Award”, “Most Committed Carer” and “Dementia Focussed Carer of the Year”. There was a special award introduced, “Carers Carer of the Year”, which enabled the care staff to nominate each other. Also, there was a special mention and flowers for one of our Franchise Managers, highlighting the outstanding care that she had delivered to one client in particular and his family.

Excitement built up as each nominee was listed for the individual awards and the winners were announced. After the winners had received their certificates, flowers and prizes, the nomination reasons for the winners were read. The stories behind the nominations were tremendous to hear and there were definitely a few tears shed.

We are so proud of our staff and realise that without them, Apollo Care would not exist. We have also grown now- with 125 members of staff looking after 242 clients!

Apollo Care never sits on its laurels and we are always striving to become better. Being able to deliver the best care possible and to support our staff means the world to us. So, just watch this space, exciting times are ahead!
