What is Good Care Month?

This month marks Good Care Month, a national campaign held every July to recognise people working across the care sector. It shines a light on the vital role carers play in supporting older people, those with disabilities, and anyone needing help to live a happier, more independent life at home.

Good Care Month is also a chance to raise awareness of care as a career, at a time when more people than ever are needed to meet growing demand for care in Liverpool and Sefton.

Apollo Care Liverpool is proud to support our community with kindness, compassion, and consistency.

What ‘Good Care’ Looks Like in Liverpool & Sefton

What others say about us matters more than anything we say ourselves. Here are just a few messages from the individuals and families we support:

“Thank you for all the care you gave our Mum.

We as a family just wanted to let you know how much we appreciate all the care and attention that was carried out towards her. So kind and loving.

All the girls are angels in disguise.”

  • Kaya, David, Annie, and all.

“I’m happy inside, relaxed and confident. I can’t think of any other carers who give me this feeling. It’s a real joy. I’m so blessed.”

  • Thomas, Bootle.

“One of the things that distinguishes Apollo Care Liverpool is how they appreciate the need for building good relationships between caregivers and clients for a continuity of care.”

  • Eric Wilson

“A big thanks to Zara,  John, Terry & Debbie for the empathy you showed my mam in the weeks before her passing.

The care Terry & Debbie gave my mam was 10 out of 10, especially in her final days.

Both carers went above and beyond with their care & compassion.”

  • Linda Ellis

Apollo Care has cared for the Liverpool community since 2017. But for us, it’s always been about more than simply providing a service. Here what some of our team say about working in care.

Caitlin MacDougall – Deputy Manager

“I’ve worked in care since 2017. After the pandemic, supporting people in their own homes felt like the right move—and it’s where I’ve found some of the most meaningful moments in my career.”

Claire Grace – Care Coordinator

“I care deeply about our community and always aim to go the extra mile—whether it’s through thoughtful scheduling or simply being there to listen.”

Chloe Roche – Client Supervisor

“For me, quality care isn’t just a service, it’s personal. My aim is always to make a genuine difference every day.”

Care as a Career

Care work is more than a job – it’s a calling. That’s why our values of caring, inspiring, empowering and supporting aren’t only for our clients. They extend to every member of our team.

We offer full training, clear career progression pathways, and continuous support to help our carers reach their potential. Because we want to make a real difference in our community, we recruit only those who share our values and want to feel part of a supportive, family-run team.

As our Recruitment and Retention Manager puts it:

“Recruitment in domiciliary care isn’t just about filling roles. It’s about finding the right fit for the team and the people we care for.”

In return for their hard work and support, we reward our carers with flexible hours, paid, travel time, training and support, and recognition.

We’re always looking for caring, compassionate, professional people to join our team in various roles. If this sounds like you, we’d love to here from you.

This Good Care Month, we want to thank every single one of our carers for your kindness, compassion, and commitment.

And if you or someone you love would benefit from home care, we’re here when you need us.
