Apollo Care were delighted to host our annual Care Awards last week at Birkenhead Rugby Club. This was attended by the Deputy Mayor of Wirral, George Davies and Josephine Wood from Tam O’Shanter’s Urban Farm.
The day was spent celebrating the achievements of our many care workers as we had nominations right across the board.
Picking the categories was hard but picking the winners was a much harder job!
Eventually, the categories we chose were:
Seed to Flower Award– a member of staff who have developed into their role, despite maybe having no previous experience before or maybe overcoming difficulties.
Winner Hannah Craven – South Wirral
Most Positive Attitude to Work
Winner Daniel Bernard – North Liverpool
Clients “shout out” Award where our service users had the opportunity to express their appreciation.
Winner Karen Ebalu – West Wirral
Inspirational Team Player of the Year- nominations from our carers for our carers.
Winner Liz Hitchell – Wirral Ltd
Outstanding Carer of the year can be for any aspect the Manager would want to recognise a person for.
Winners Jo Roberts – Liverpool
Karen Hellack – South Liverpool
Special Mentions Award to recognise an integral member of the team
Winner Lisa Walklett – Head Office
Franchisee of the Year Sponsored by Bold Online Marketing
Winner Suzanne Janvier – South Wirral
We had music, great food and refreshments, singing and a fantastic raffle with many prizes donated from local businesses, so a massive thank you to all. This year we raised £450 for our chosen charity Tam O’Shanter Urban Farm and the great work they do there.
Our Apollo Academy candidates were present and were on hand to answer any questions from colleagues about their experience. Hopefully, we will see lots of nominations put forward for the next Academy in January 2020.
I think we can all agree a great day was had by all, best get thinking about next year’s.
